How To Make Fried Bean Doughnuts
Fried bean doughnut is called Akara in Nigeria and Kose in Ghana. It is made by using powdered dry black-eyed beans or peas as opposed to going through the laborious original recipe where you must soak the beans for hours and then peel the skins off each individual bean prior to blending. Life is too much fun to spend it peeling beans. Besides the powdered beans, you can buy them from health food shops where they are sourced from ethical brands which pay a fair wage to their employers in an unfortunate part of the world as well as allowing you to skip the part where you have to do everything yourself and invest your time into enjoying this process instead.
